It's cut out of 1/32' thick material and it hides any trace of the original humbucker mounting. The oversized shim spans the extra width of the humbucker route and adds an extra distance of 3/32' all the way around. Shim packs include two “oversized” shim for use when installing Dogear style pickups into a guitar that has been routed for a humbucker-sized pickup. Our shim packs include six commonly used thicknesses and shims can be stacked to achieve a variety of heights. We sell shims to help you adjust your Dogear pickup to the optimal height.
